Leonida Keys in GTA 6: where Jason’s story begins

Short answer: The Leonida Keys are GTA 6’s version of the Florida Keys: a chain of islands joined by long road bridges, south of Vice City. Rockstar calls them the “Gateway to Paradise”. Jason lives here at the start of the game, working for local drug runners.

What the Leonida Keys are like

Rockstar describes the Keys as laid-back: casual dress code, busy bars, and the edge of some of the most beautiful and dangerous waters in America. Behind the postcard view, the islands are a route for smugglers.

This is where Jason’s story starts. He lives rent-free in a property owned by old-school drug runner Brian Heder, and pays him back by helping with shakedowns and other jobs. Rockstar co-studio head Rob Nelson has said the game opens at Jason’s house in the Keys.
