Grassrivers in GTA 6: the Everglades of Leonida

Short answer: Grassrivers is GTA 6’s version of the Everglades: a huge wetland of mangroves and channels west of Vice City. Rockstar’s tagline is “Welcome to the Wetlands” and it warns that alligators are not the deadliest thing out there.

What Grassrivers is like

Rockstar calls Grassrivers a “primordial expanse of mangroves”. The gators are the attraction, but not the most dangerous predators, a hint that the people hiding out in the swamp are worse. Screenshots show the Vice City skyline on the horizon, so the wetlands sit close to the city.

Grassrivers in the trailers

Trailer 1 included a swamp scene. In An Extended Look, Jason and Lucia ride an airboat through the wetlands as part of a montage.

Tips

Expect alligators in the water and on the banks. In Florida, airboats are the normal way to cross shallow wetland, and the same is likely here. If you are running from police, the swamp is a natural place to lose them, since roads are few.
