What is new in GTA 6

  • Mini golf and kayaking are new to the series.
  • Scuba diving returns with specialised gear, and Rockstar says the ocean is full of life: sharks, whales, rays, turtles and jellyfish.
  • Zoos are places you can visit. Rockstar has not said what you can do there.
  • Animal tracking: more than 170 species, some marked Rare, Discoverable or Legendary.

What is back from older GTA games

  • Basketball and working out return for the first time since GTA San Andreas. The Extended Look shows that your body can change: you can get fit or put on weight.
  • Pool and fist fights were last seen in GTA IV.
  • Hunting and fishing build on Red Dead Redemption 2.

Do you have to do them?

No. Side activities are optional and you can do them any time, also after the story ends. Expect them to count toward 100% completion, as in past Rockstar games. Rockstar has not shared rewards, scores or exact locations yet.
