GTA 6 police won’t search the bus
Short answer: Rockstar told Edge magazine that if you are wanted and hide on a bus, police driving past will not search it unless they saw you get on. It also said you can provoke and then calm down NPCs in a busy store so they leave before a robbery, meaning fewer witnesses.

How this differs from GTA 5
In GTA 5, police often spawned near a hidden player and searched the spot even after the player left the wanted area, so hiding rarely worked and most escapes became long chases. In GTA 6, what officers actually saw matters. This fits the witness-based police investigation system, the Criminal Profile and the Defuse or Provoke NPC prompts.
