GTA 6 Criminal Profile explained: is it an honor system?

Short answer: The Criminal Profile is GTA 6’s version of Red Dead 2’s honor meter, but it rates you as a professional or a sloppy criminal, not as good or evil. A clean robbery where nobody dies and you escape raises it; random violence lowers it. It also notices small things, like feeding animals or throwing trash in a bin. Rockstar says consistent actions can change how the world reacts to you and how the story plays out.

What raises and lowers it

Raises your profileLowers your profile
Robbing a store without killing anyoneShooting into a crowd unprovoked
Escaping cleanlyExcessive violence during a job
Defusing a situation by aiming instead of firingGetting sloppy and leaving witnesses and evidence
Small decent acts, like feeding animals or using a bin—

Self-defence counts differently: shooting back at someone who attacked first is not treated like starting a massacre.

What it changes

  • NPC reactions change over time based on the profile you build. They don’t reset after each mission.
  • Story: Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson said consistent actions “may have an impact in terms of how the world reacts to you and how the narrative plays out.”
  • Exact rewards (discounts, missions, endings) have not been detailed. Unconfirmed
