Is this real? Yes, confirmed by an official source
Who said it: Rockstar North (Rob Nelson, Aaron Garbut, Phil Hooker) in Edge magazine issue 430. Sources: Edge, GamesRadar+, PC Gamer. Our view: Details come from a 90-minute PS5 gameplay demo Rockstar showed to Edge. Checked: 28 Oct 2026.
How to lose the police
- Change your clothes.
- Get rid of your weapons.
- Split up from your partner.
How you carry weapons matters: a shotgun held openly scares people more than one slung on your back. In the demo, police used a spike strip that threw Jason and Lucia off a stolen motorbike, and a police dog joined the chase.
