Which time applies to you?
The time depends on the country of your PlayStation Network or Xbox account (your store region), not where you are sitting. If you live in Pakistan but use a US account, the US time applies to you.
Changing your console clock does not start the pre-load earlier. The store controls it.
What pre-load means
- Pre-load lets you download the game before launch, so you can play the moment it unlocks.
- You cannot play during pre-load. The game stays locked until 19 November.
- It works for digital pre-orders and boxed copies. The boxed edition has no disc, only a download code, so you can pre-load with that code from the same date, according to Forbes.
- Anyone offering “early access” or “download GTA 6 now” is running a scam.
How to pre-load on PS5 and Xbox
- Pre-order the digital version from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.
- Turn on automatic downloads and keep the console in rest mode (PS5) or sleep mode (Xbox).
- On 12 November, check your game library. If nothing starts, open the game page and press Download.
Step-by-step settings are in our pre-load checklist.
How long will the download take?
The game will be big. Rockstar has not published the size, so we use the common estimate of 150 to 250 GB. Pick your internet speed:
Pick a speed to see the download time.
Real speeds are usually 20–30% lower than your plan, and servers are busy on pre-load day, so start early. More tips in the pre-load checklist.

We will update this page the moment Sony, Microsoft or Rockstar confirm the time.
