When is GTA 6 Online coming out? Not on launch day

Short answer: No date has been announced. Everything Rockstar has shown is single-player, and GTA 6 launches single-player only on 19 November 2026. In August 2026 Bloomberg reported that Take-Two is not planning to talk about the new GTA Online “anytime soon”. For reference, GTA 5’s online mode came two weeks after its launch in 2013.

Why it’s not there at launch

Rockstar is putting all its marketing into the story. The same happened with GTA 5: GTA Online arrived on 1 October 2013, two weeks after the game. With a much bigger game this time, a longer gap would not be surprising.

What about the free month of GTA+?

Pre-orders include a month of GTA+, Rockstar’s membership. Right now it gives benefits in the current GTA Online (GTA 5). Rockstar has not said what GTA+ will offer in GTA 6. See editions and bonuses.

Will the old GTA Online shut down?

No. Take-Two says it will keep supporting it after GTA 6 launches. Full answer: Will GTA 5 Online shut down?
