Does GTA 6 run at 60fps? PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox

Short answer: Not at launch, as far as we know. The Extended Look was captured on a base PS5 at 30fps, and previewers say the build targets a stable 30fps at about 1440p, upscaled to 4K. GTA 6 is listed as PS5 Pro Enhanced, but Rockstar hasn’t said what that adds; better image quality and ray tracing are expected, and a 60fps mode is not confirmed on any console.

Why 30fps?

GTA 6 pushes dense crowds, heavy traffic, ray-traced lighting and reflections, and no loading screens across a huge map. Previewers called a locked 60fps on current consoles “extremely unlikely”. Rockstar chose detail over frame rate, as it did with Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4.

Should you buy a PS5 Pro for GTA 6?

Wait for real tests. Until Rockstar says what “PS5 Pro Enhanced” means, you can’t know if it adds 60fps or only sharper images. Digital Foundry-style tests will appear around launch on 19 November 2026.
