Can you buy houses and businesses in GTA 6? What’s confirmed

Short answer: Not confirmed yet. Rockstar has shown two story safehouses (Lucia’s Starlet Motel and the place Jason lives rent-free from Brian Heder) and two garages from the editions (Shore Court in Ocean Beach, Paradise Garage in Watson Bay). It has not announced buying houses, apartments or businesses. Every main GTA since Vice City let you buy something, so it is likely, but wait for Rockstar.

What you’ll spend money on

Money matters a lot in GTA 6: some story chapters need you to raise cash first, and you earn it through robberies, selling cars and fences. Confirmed ways to spend include clothes, cars and shops (some shops only in Ultimate). Property may join that list at launch.

Property in past GTA games

Vice City (2002): buy businesses that earn money.
GTA 5: buy businesses and garages in story mode.
GTA Online: apartments, offices, nightclubs and more.
