Will GTA 6 go on sale after launch? Black Friday and discounts

Short answer: Don’t expect an official discount soon. Take-Two’s CEO said there will be no holiday price cut and that GTA 6’s price will drop only “eventually”, likely years from now. Shops can still run their own deals on boxed copies, as they did for GTA 5 and RDR2.

What happened with GTA 5 and RDR2

GTA 5 (launched 17 September 2013) was $34 at Amazon on Black Friday 2013, about two months after launch. Reported
Red Dead Redemption 2 (26 October 2018) saw retailer deals within days, and more on Black Friday 2018. Reported

Those were shop deals on boxed copies, not price cuts by Rockstar. GTA 6’s box contains a download code, and retailers may still discount it.

Black Friday 2026 (27 November)

GTA 6 will be eight days old. Digital stores (PS Store, Microsoft Store) are unlikely to discount it. Watch big retailers for boxed Standard deals. Keep in mind: the pre-order bonus needs an order before 20 November. See pre-order guide.
