Ex-Rockstar Designer: GTA 6 Is a Game of a Generation, With a Catch
Short answer: Former Rockstar designer Kris Roberts told Indy100 that GTA 6 will probably be the game of a generation but that whatever ships may bring some dysphoria, because hype is so high. It is his opinion, and he says he cannot talk about the game specifically.

Indy100 reports Kris Roberts worked at Rockstar from 2001 to 2010 as vehicle and game designer on Midnight Club and later lead multiplayer designer on Red Dead Redemption. He says that after the deep dive and gameplay he has seen, it looks really good and he expects it to be the game of a generation for this hardware, but that some fans may feel it falls short of what the hype suggests. He does not expect vehicles to change substantially from GTA 5, and says the aesthetic matters more than the technology.
