Will Rockstar take down GTA 6 spoiler videos? What its policy says

Short answer: Rockstar’s existing copyright policy says videos of a game’s ending, an edited mix of cutscenes or other big story reveals can be taken down. The page is not about GTA 6 only and gives no end date, so the press says it applies after the 19 November launch too. Normal non-commercial gameplay footage is allowed.

What Rockstar’s policy says

Is this real? The policy is official; the post-launch reading is press

Who said it: Rockstar Support policy page (not GTA 6-specific), read by Insider Gaming, VGTimes and ShiftDelete.Net. Sources: 1 official page, 2 outlets we could read. Our view: Rockstar has made no new statement about GTA 6 spoilers; the “even after launch” part is the press reading a policy with no end date. Checked: 4 Nov 2026.

Official Rockstar Support has a page called “Policy on posting copyrighted Rockstar Games material”, last updated 10 January 2025. It covers all Rockstar games, not only GTA 6. It says Rockstar will send a takedown notice for videos that show:

  • The ending of the game.
  • An edited combination of cutscenes.
  • Any other big reveal in the story.

It also says isolated videos of a game’s cutscenes will be removed, while cutscenes shown as part of a longer play-through, or a narrated Let’s Play, are fine. Pre-release leaks, cheating and mod-menu videos, and unauthorised mods are also listed. For unsure cases it gives the contact [email protected].

What is still allowed

Official Rockstar says it is happy for fans to upload their gameplay. The policy asks that it is non-commercial, meaning you do not make money from the game footage, and that it does not intentionally spoil the plot. It also says Take-Two can remove content at any time.

In plain terms: a normal play-through or a narrated Let’s Play is the safe side. A clip that is only the final cutscene, or a cut-together story video, is the side the policy names.

Why this is in the news

Reported On 4 November 2026 several outlets pointed to the policy ahead of launch. VGTimes says Insider Gaming brought it to attention. ShiftDelete.Net and VGTimes both read it as applying after the 19 November release, and both note the page gives no end date. That is their reading. Unconfirmed Rockstar has not issued a new GTA 6 statement about spoilers, and we could not read the Insider Gaming article itself.

If you plan to post story content after launch, check the policy page yourself before you upload.
