The GTA 6 “Cyberleek” leaks explained: what Take-Two is doing about them

Short answer: From 18 August 2026, a poster called “Cyberleek” shared unreleased GTA 6 clips. Take-Two responded with DMCA subpoenas in a New York federal court, asking Discord, Microsoft, X and Google to identify the people involved. These are requests for information, not lawsuits. We don’t show or describe the leaked material.

Take-Two’s legal response

DMCA 512(h) subpoenas filed in the Southern District of New York. Reported
Discord and Microsoft: account and device information for members of three Discord servers.
X: three usernames, now suspended.
Google/YouTube: one video and three channels.

A subpoena asks a company to reveal who is behind an account. It isn’t a lawsuit, though it can come before one. Discord said on 24 August it hadn’t yet been served. Reported

Why we don’t cover leaked footage

Leaked clips are often from old builds, can be fake, and can spoil the game. Sharing them can also get accounts banned. We only report what Rockstar shows or what reliable previews describe. Read our editorial policy.

Stay safe

“Leak” downloads and Discord links are a common way to spread malware. See GTA 6 scams.
