Reported Speaking on the Sozzi Unleashed show, as reported by GameSpot, Gordon shared two ideas about GTA 6 success:
- 75 million copies: he guessed a GTA 6 trailer reached about 750 million people. If 10% of them buy the game, that would be 75 million sales, which he called “mind-blowing”.
- Thanksgiving test: Thanksgiving is on 26 November, one week after GTA 6 comes out on 19 November. He said success means people play GTA 6 after their turkey instead of watching football.

Is this an official sales target?
Unconfirmed No. Gordon does not work for Rockstar or Take-Two, and Take-Two has not shared a sales goal or the game’s budget. GameSpot also notes that no single GTA 6 video has 750 million views, though all GTA 6 videos together may reach that.
Other numbers so far are estimates too: Sensor Tower thinks about 7 million copies were pre-ordered, and Circana says nearly 1 in 3 US gamers plan to buy it.
