How does character switching work in GTA 6? Jason, Lucia or both

Short answer: A selection wheel lets you pick Solo Jason, Solo Lucia, or both together. When they’re together you can swap instantly, and the AI controls the other one, covering you in fights and helping on robberies. But Rob Nelson told Famitsu that switching is limited by story progression: some missions lock you to one character, some force a swap, and some let you choose.

Different from GTA 5

GTA 5 had three men with separate lives, and switching jumped across the map. GTA 6 is built around a couple, often side by side, closer to a co-op feel in single-player. The police can even identify them separately, so splitting up can help you escape. See the wanted system.
