Does GTA 6 have microtransactions? The “In-Game Purchases” label explained
Short answer: Probably not much at launch. Almost every rating board and the PlayStation Store list “In-Game Purchases (optional)”, but that label is standard and covers things like the Ultimate upgrade and GTA+. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has suggested there is no recurrent spending planned at launch. GTA 6 Online, when it comes, will very likely have Shark Card-style purchases, but Rockstar hasn’t said.

For parents
Turn on spending limits or require a password for purchases in your PlayStation or Xbox family settings. The in-game purchases label is on the box and store page in every major market. See Is GTA 6 OK for kids?
What about GTA 6 Online?
GTA Online (GTA 5) earns much of its money from Shark Cards. GTA 6 has no online mode at launch, so the real microtransaction question will come later. See GTA 6 Online release date.
