Is GTA 6 Banned in Some Countries?

Short answer: No government has officially banned GTA 6. The viral list of eight “banned” countries (Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Taiwan) comes from PlayStation’s terms for the free GTA+ month, not from a ban. Still, the game is not sold on the PlayStation Store in some of them, there is no official release in China, and Russia’s PS Store has been closed since 2022.

Why is it missing in some stores?

Nobody has said. Likely reasons are local content rules (GTA 6 has strong violence, nudity and drugs, see age ratings), store policies, or a rating that has not been issued yet. A missing store page is not the same as a legal ban.

Can players in those countries still play?

Many players use a PlayStation or Xbox account from another region and top it up with gift cards. Read the risks first: store terms say your account country should match where you live. How to buy GTA 6 without a local store.
